Nap Time..zzzz

Recently Tyson hasn't been able to decide if he wants to take one nap during the day or two.  Some days he'll take a nap for 3 1/2 hours and other days it will be 2 naps at 2 hours a piece.  I never know what he wants to do so I let him just tell me by how fussy he is.  On one day where he insisted on only taking one nap I put him in the Jumperoo and after 15 minutes of straight jumping I found him like this...

So I quickly pulled him out of the Jumperoo and laid him down in his crib.  I think he slept over 3 hours. : )

On Saturday we went to the car show.  It is a Carlsen family tradition to go every year.  Here are some pictures of Tyson and daddy by a Maserati and a Ferrari!

A lady walked by and said while I was snapping the photo, "Taking a picture of your first car little guy?!"  Brian and I had a good laugh with that one...

Dressed for spring in the middle of winter!

My mother wanted to see this dress on me and Brian thought I looked really nice so we went outside for some pictures.  Since the dress is probably more of a spring dress I was freezing.  Just some fun shots to show off the dress and the beautiful BUT cold winter in Utah.

Risky Business and Hair Cuts

Hey hey!  So after church we changed Tyson's diaper and left his pants off.  He hates it when we dress him.  Anyway, Brian thought he looked like Tom Cruise from Risky Business.  We had a good laugh and took a picture.  Our little guy so far is gonna be a basketball player and now a movie star.

Now for the hair cuts.  I trimmed Ty's hair in the front Thursday morning.  I think I did alright.  Now there isn't hair hanging in his eyes.  I think he appreciates it : )  On Saturday I got my hair cut.  As some of you know I have been contemplating bangs.  Well, I got them and I do love them.  I also wanted my hair short but it came out a bit shorter than I wanted (doesn't it always?).  It also got cut A-line but I'm not a huge fan of that.  Hair grows fast so I'm not really upset.  I'm happy I tried something new.  Here I am:

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I realize Christmas was about two weeks ago but this is the first time I have had to load up our pictures and type an entry.  We spent a few days with Brian's family where Tyson was getting over his nasty sickness and then Brian got sick and then me.  I have been getting back into the groove of preparing dance classes again and trying to clean our house.  When everyone is sick housework definitely gets put on hold.  Anyway, I think we are all better expect Brian is struggling with some eye issues.

Like I mentioned before we spent Christmas with Brian's family.  On Christmas Eve there is a tradition where the youngest family member there gets to put Jesus in his manager for a Nativity scene.  Tyson got to do it this year.  He wanted to eat Jesus but Aunt Wendy helped him with it.  Here are two pictures of Tyson being a part of a Carlsen tradition.

Another tradition is that each family member gets to open one present on Christmas Eve.  I really like this tradition because growing up my family did this too!  It makes me feel a bit at home when we do this.  : )  Tyson didn't go to bed until real late Christmas Eve so he slept in on Christmas morning.  He also pooped through his diaper onto his Christmas pajamas.  So I had him stay in those pajamas for a picture or two and then we had to change him.  Here are some highlights from the morning.

Our Christmas was great!  We got lots of new fun "toys".  However, I did return the Guitar Hero to get Rock Band 2 instead.  It's more fun!

The day after Christmas it snowed ALOT!  So, we went out and made a snowman.  It was my first snowman ever.  Brian did most of it because the snow wouldn't stick together but it was still really fun and COLD!  Here are some pictures of our masterpiece!

Mine and Tyson's first snowman!  Tyson stayed inside the whole time with Grandma and Grandpa to stay out of the cold.

Tyson doesn't like snow at all just like his Grandpa Murray : )

Happy New Year as well everyone!  On New Years Eve we went to my brother's house to party.  Since it was my birthday my sister-in-law made me a yummy cake.  We didn't get any pictures from that event but I am now 24!  Time sure does fly!  Lots of love!

Happy Anniversary BRIAN!!!

So, today marked 3 years of wonderful married life with my husband.  He is the most thoughtful and wonderful man I have ever met.  He is a fantastic spouse, friend, and father.  Tyson just adores Brian and I have to say one of the things that make me ALWAYS smile is Brian playing with Tyson.  Brian works so hard at everything he does no matter how big or small.  I love you Brian and thank you for 3 wonderful years of marriage.  I can't wait to see what else will come our way.

Unfortunately, Tyson has been sick the last few days so we didn't feel comfortable asking someone to watch Tyson when he was so sick.  We didn't get to go out to dinner or movie or anything.  We will have to pick a night in the near future to celebrate!  I did go to the Nutcracker with my sister in law tonight and had a lot of fun.  Brian stayed home with our sick baby : (  I love ballet...and Brian of course!

Here are some pictures of my love and I:

Christmas Pictures

I know this is my second post of today.  I am just too excited to not share our pictures from this afternoon.  My sister-in-law took these and I am really happy with how they turned out.  Next week I am taking her pictures and I only hope I can get her such great pictures she got for my family!  It was so cold at the park.  I had of course coordinated colored sweaters but it was so cold Brian and I didn't even want to take off our coats.  Oh well, the colors still all work together!  Tyson did great.  He didn't get fussy at all and it sure helped to have his cousins and uncle making silly noisy and faces at him. Happy looking and don't forget to look at our my other post below.  You'll get to see Tyson with Santa ;)

The following pictures are of the kids/cousins!  Max, Madilyn and Tyson!   It was pretty hard to get all the kids looking the same way BUT we learned something today.  If the kids are freezing then they won't really run away : )

It's Christmas Time!

Last weekend we went to the Festival of Trees.  Every tree and decoration is donated and then any profits made go to the Children's Hospital.  It was extremely crowded (which is a wonderful thing to see) but we still had lots of fun.  There were University of Utah golf trees (that's for Grandpa Dickson, the Murray Grandparents and for my dad), Twilight trees, and the usual snowman and Santa Clause trees.  They also had gingerbread houses or rather mansions and pictures with Santa!  The pictures with Santa weren't that cheap (we got a 5x7 and a CD for $12) but I figured Ty was dressed up and anything I paid went to the hospital : ).  Here are some fun pictures that I took and then Ty with Santa!

Tyson with a fun Santa tree.  Isn't Photoshop cool?!  I took that hideous white chain out of my picture.  I am still trying to figure out how to use the feature and this was my first time so don't look TOO close!

Utah golf.  I accidentally cut off the "star" at the top of the golf club tree.  It was a giant lighted golf ball!

Tyson with Santa!  He was looking at the lady at the side with the noisy reindeer : )  He did well for like 3 picture and then started fussing but didn't cry.
