I think the warm ups are my favorite. There isn’t much else cuter than little kids doing jumping jacks or stretching.
On this day Tyson was on first base. He circled the base and didn’t even watch who was hitting the ball.
He did get one and threw it!
Trying to get a great picture of six 3-5 year olds is pretty impossible. :) Steele, Wes, Ty, Corgan, Jaden and Davis.
It was a blast to do sports class the last 3 months! Next up will most likely be swim lessons in June :)
I am so mad about this virus. Where did it come from? Why does it keep hitting my baby? What can I do about it? Why is this the 3rd time he has gotten it in less than a year???!!! So furious.
We are on day 9 and to say I am ready for Andrew to feel better is a huge understatement. I am sooooo ready for him to STOP losing weight! When I took him in to the Dr. on day 5 he had already lost around 2 pounds. When I change his diaper I want to cry because I can see his rib cage. When I pick him up he is limp. His laughing and smiles have been replaced with the loudest screams that have ever come out of his mouth. Don’t get me started on the vomit and how many loads of laundry I have done. I went to the Dr. to make sure it wasn’t something else. I mean why does this virus last so long?! Is this normal? Anyone else’s kids get this? Our entire family never gets it, just Andy. I asked the Dr. if he can live off of Pedialyte for 10 to 14 days (because I was already know how long this hell lasts). She said he can live off of it for awhile. The other times he had this he was on breast milk or formula so I feel like it is totally different this time.
Please help us pray for our baby.
I don’t usually like to write such depressing posts but when I come back and read this when he is better it will make me appreciate our healthy kids even more.
Tyson: Thanks for being such a good big brother most of the last 8 days. I am so sorry you have had to watch TV and play on the ipod for the majority of the day. Thanks for helping me smile when I am sad, worried and depressed. Thanks for being so independent. Love you.
On Saturday we were planning to go to the BYU Men’s soccer game because our Pass of All Passes would make the game free. I told Brian that he really should take Ty even though me and Andrew couldn’t go. Brian said Ty loved it!!! These pictures make me think that he didn’t do much watching of the game :) But you can tell he is having a fabulous night out with his dad.
Last year’s tulip festival was fabulous but also extremely exhausting. I had a 2 month old and a newly potty trained 3 year old. I was super out of shape from pregnancy and my c-section so it made for a frazzled day. I had breastfed the baby in heat, pushed a heavy stroller up and over hills, ran and carried Tyson to a bathroom multiple times, etc. I look at the pictures from 2011 now and again and I love them. I worked hard on that day and we made memories. I was SO excited to go this year. I figured I had a great rhythm down with 2 kids now and I am in great shape! Andrew threw up once on Sunday morning and once on Monday afternoon. It was decided with my friends to go on Tuesday the 24th. That morning I thought I should stay home but then some friends and I talked myself into going. Maybe Andrew just has a weird gag reflex thing going on? He sleeps great, no fever, etc. I packed up in record time but was prepared for Andrew to vomit, just in case…
The hill that every kid in the state of Utah, that goes to the festival, rolls down. He was even faster this year!

Right towards the end everyone was sitting down for lunch. I was just about to get my sandwich out and I figured I should check on Andrew. Right as I turned to him I watched him throw up. It launched past his feet (sorry that is so nasty but I couldn’t believe how far it went!) I hurried and cleaned him up, yelled at Tyson a few times to eat his lunch and then my friend, Ashley, walked out with me leaving everyone behind. I had to get Tyson to preschool anyway. It was not how I had envisioned that day to go. Darn it. Maybe next year. I was pretty embarrassed that whatever Andrew had it wasn’t just a gag reflex. I am so sorry to everyone that went :( Hopefully no one else gets it.
I had to get at least one picture of the 3 of us. I’m sad that I didn’t get more pictures. I was worried about getting Ty to school and then making sure Andrew was okay.
We raced home where I got Tyson’s backpack and then took him to school. After school I figured we needed a treat from the rough morning/afternoon that we had had. Thank you McDonald’s.
I really have no sense of style when it comes to my house and decorating. It stresses me out. Will this look good here? What color am I suppose to do? What is my style? I really don’t enjoy it. However, with this constant itch of wanting to get out of this condo (purely out of wanting more room and something to call ours and for no other reasons) and buy a home that I knew wasn’t coming anytime soon. I needed a change. Something! My dear friend Ashley heard me complaining about it all and offered to help me! She came over one morning and we talked everything out. Just having her tell me where to move things, what to get, etc. lifted weight off of my shoulders. I actually got excited about it all! I was told I could spend $100. I spend about $200. It’s okay though, Brian told me to use a little bit of our tax return. Whew! After 3 trips to Hobby Lobby, 7 trips to Walmart, 2 trips to the Dollar Store, 2 trips to Target, Ashley sewing pillow covers for me, ruining 3 frames and wanting to cry, and learning how to actually spray paint…the room is finished almost exactly four weeks later. I love these shelves so much that I sometimes just lay on the couch and stare, seriously.
And this picture frame wall was hard. I learned the hard way that you can’t spray paint plastic cheap frames with regular spray paint. Don’t laugh, haha. But I did learn there is Krylon Fusion that works like a charm because it adheres to plastic and it is only $1 more at Walmart than regular spray paint. I just love how different all the frames are but that they are all in unison by being white. I also lay on the couch and stare at this wall. Ashley R., I love you a billion times over for your help.
Pretty amazing how changing my living room has lifted my spirits tremendously. The room feels happier and bigger! Now I am secretly planning some redoing in the kitchen. I’ll work on the funds for that.
On the 11th we took the plunge and headed to City Creek.
Was it beautiful? Yes.
Were the stores awesome? Not really. (Ack! Don’t shoot me friends.) It isn’t really my style to walk around and look at clothes that I have no intention of buying because a) they are too expensive or b) they aren’t my style. Give me Maurices any day of the week. Pretty sure almost everything I own in my closet is from that place.
So after walking around City Creek we had more time to kill and headed to temple square. It had been a long time since we’d been. Tyson was mad about being there but warmed up just at the very end with the Christus statue. I think it has that affect.
Pretty sure his favorite part of the entire day was riding traxs from and to our car. Not really surprising.
So I got this genius idea to take a picture of him in front of the temple and frame it for his room so he could talk about how he will go in someday. Well, he wasn’t having it.
Brian is fabulous at a lot of things, but there is one thing that I am extremely grateful for his determination to excel at: food storage. I skim the pantry and think Oh, I don’t need to buy diced tomatoes because we have 15 cans here. Well 15 dinners later we’ve ran out and it’s my fault. I don’t ever re-buy to replenish the storage. Brian is helping me figure out a system so this stops happening. What good is food storage when it is gone? He was very happy that Macey’s had their case lot sale and we stalked back up on everything. We went on a Monday night and turned it into a Family Home Evening lesson for Tyson. He really got into it so I consider that a success.
He helped carrying in all the cans :) He kept telling us how “heavy his muscles” were.
After carrying in 50 billion cans he then stands in the pantry for an hour and a half and organizes it and puts it all a way. Isn’t it pretty?
I hope I can keep up with it!
And because some items got re-arranged in the pantry…I gotta remember to close that pantry door! :) He was having a blast playing in the oats.
Got an idea from Pinterest (there’s that site again) to ask your child every year on their birthday the same questions. I thought it would be fun to see where his 4 year old mind would take these questions. Happy Birthday Tyson!

Easter morning and their baskets!
I don’t remember what this face is for but he was confused about something :)
Easter morning we woke up and looked at the baskets and then had pancakes and eggs from the nifty Toy Story tasty baker. Ty gobbled them right up!
Then we got ready for church and headed to Sacrament meeting. The primary sang a song during the meeting and Ty didn’t really want to go. He was tired from staying up late because friends were over (The Hansens). I walked him up to the podium because he wasn’t going to walk up there himself. Then during the whole song he made a sour/anger/pouty face. Brian and I were trying so hard to smile and sing along but he wasn’t going to have it. Brian did break his pouty face by giving the same look back and Ty fought back a smile. Oh memories :)
I am hoping that next year we will spend more time on the meaning of Easter. It is so easy to get caught up in the candy, gifts, etc. I think also with Tyson’s birthday our hearts and minds weren’t really where we wanted them to be during the holiday.
After church we headed to Brian’s parents house for dinner. We brought cake and ice cream and he received more presents! See, birthday was seriously 3 days long! It was great to catch up with everyone and spend time with family. Oh and Brian’s mom had an egg hunt for the kids. Gotta love the excitement around those hunts!
