24th of July

We had a fun 24th of July with my family.  Mike and Em busted out the slip n slide.  Jeffrey was worried at first but ended up loving it.  He crawled down it and slipped a few times.  The boys were crazy and Madi was being helpful and protective to Jeffrey.

We did sparklers and small fireworks.  Andrew was a bit more calm on this day in comparison to the 4th of July.  Mom made sure to not get any fireworks that made loud popping noises.

Aug 18-22

We went to the new children’s museum at Thanksgiving point.  It was my father’s last week visiting so we took advantage of all the fun things to do around town.

We could have stayed at this place for HOURS.  No one wanted to leave but Mike’s family needed to catch the train and we needed to eat dinner.

In August we had lots of rainstorms.  Storms that knocked over trash cans and toys ended up in other yards.  There were nights where we woke up to the rain and thunder.  We checked our backyard some nights and started to worry.  The pictures below were the last straw.  I called my father and Brian and him made up a plan to help the yard drain.  We knew we needed to be proactive for now and the future.

The Friday before my dad left they worked on the drain.  It took them all day.  They had terrible blisters and they were making jokes and analogies up of how much pain their bodies were in.  Andrew thought he was helping the whole time.  It was cute.

The drain works and I’m so grateful to have that piece of mind.
