My friend put on something called the Brite Night Event.  You bring an item to donate to the woman’s shelter and there was food, dancing and a make and take.  It was an awesome night out.  We danced until the last song.  My feet killed at the end but I LOVED it.  I love dance parties.

This is something Andrew does on a daily basis.  He finds all the bottles he can and lines them up, or hoards them or hides them.  I wonder if he will be in the beauty industry when he grows up.  He is so silly.

Nutcracker 2013

For my mother’s Christmas present, Emily and I took my mom to Ballet West’s Nutcracker.  It was such a fun night.  We went to the Olive Garden for dinner and then headed across the street.

I got so lost in the magic of the show.  It was beautiful.  The dancing was perfection.  It made me want to get up and dance right then and there.

The Sugar Plum’s cavalier was a very recognizable face.  He was my pas de deux partner at ABT’s summer intensive program in Orange County back in 2002.  I was shocked.

At the end mom had us each pick out a Nutcracker ornament.  I got a red and white sparkly Nutcracker.  It was a great night!

Gingerbread house and new house

On the 21st my mother came to watch our boys so Brian and I could go on an anniversary date.  8 years!  Well, that honestly flew by.  Neither one of us was feeling well though.  We both realized the day after that we had caught the flu.  But we did our best to enjoy the night away and the food at Texas Roadhouse.

When we went out to see the house on the 22nd we were amazed.  The sheet rock was up.  I feel like having the ‘walls’ up made it feel even more real.

Then the kids decorated their own house.  They had a blast.  One candy on the house, one in their mouths, house, mouth.  It was a mess but they loved it.  I was in charge of icing duty, but with feeling so sick I didn’t put much effort into it.  It is okay.  The kids didn’t care.

Towards the end I wanted to get some pictures but Andrew wouldn’t stop picking the candy off of the house long enough for me to get a shot. Except for one and it is hilarious.

Kindergarten Program

I am so glad my parents were in town for Christmas.  For lots and lots of reasons, but one of them was for my mom to come see Tyson in his school program.  My dad had had surgery on Wednesday and this was Friday so he was at the hotel resting.  My mom slipped away for a bit and helped me out tremendously.

He sang songs called, “Suzie Snowflake” and (ask Tyson).  He was so funny and cute.  He was not allowed to wave he told me.  He said that his teacher said that.  So when I was waving and calling out his name, he looked at me, did a tiny small and then went back to business.  Their glittery snowflake hats looked awesome on stage.  I can’t believe he is so big.

We waited an entire hour to hear the Kindergartens sing.  So when they finished all the parents were cheering.  Loudly.  Tyson covered his ears.  Haha!  And apparently the boy in front of him didn’t listen to the teacher and waved.  haha.

December 15th

I was so excited to show the house to my family.

This picture is great too.  It is Brian and his mother looking out the bedroom window and I’m standing by the sink in the master bathroom.  It is like 2 walls and closet doors away.

Andrew is really fun to take pictures of around the house.

Ward Christmas Party

I told Tyson that Santa was making a special visit to the Christmas party and he thought to bring his list with him!  Smart kid.  So we took some pictures of them since we knew he would take them back to the North Pole.

They had a kid’s craft corner and Andrew was back there for 10-15 minutes trying to glue popsicle sticks together and threading beads on a string.  He was so cute and concentrating really hard.  Hence the tongue poking out in the second picture.  He does that a lot when he is focused.
