Jeffrey’s Blessing

I look forward to baby blessings.  It’s so sweet to hear what the Lord wants the baby’s mother to hear.  I do believe the blessing is for the mom Smile  Jeffrey’s blessing was so beautiful today.  From what I remember, Brian blessed that Jeffrey would continue to grow and be strong and healthy.  He blessed that Jeffrey would be an example to his brothers and others around him.  He also blessed that he would be peaceful for me.  Ah, I teared up.  Only time will tell but part of the reason why his name is Jeffrey is because it means God’s peace.  Brian Carlsen, Ray Carlsen, Max Dickson, John Carlsen, Leny Grill, Weston Grill, Michael Murray,  Joseph Hansen, Scott McCage and Bishop Mortenson all stood in the circle.

Afterward we had a brunch at the clubhouse.  Jeffrey sure has a lot of people that love him.  I was a little worried about Jeffrey spiting up or pooping all over his white outfit.  Luckily, he pooped right after, and I mean right after, I dressed him this morning so I was able to quickly change it before we left for church.  The adorable outfit survived!  I think he looked pretty handsome.

He has been slightly smiling lately and it looks like I might have caught a few little ones.  He knew it was a happy and special day for him I think.  He’s an angel sent straight down from Heaven.

4th of July

We got to spend 2 days celebrating the 4th of July!  On the 3rd we went to my brother’s house.  The kids first played in the little pool and water hose toy thingy.  Tyson and Andrew had a blast.  It made me really excited to have our own backyard where we can do things like that soon.  Then we all headed to Monster’s University.  All of the kids, including Jeffrey, did great.  It was a super cute and fun movie.  Next, we had a great dinner of pulled pork, potato salad, watermelon and chips.  Then everyone headed outside for popsicles, some baseball fun, sparklers, smoke bombs and pops.  Andrew got pretty scared of the ‘fireworks’.  He kept backing away slowly with a terrifed look on his face.  It was funny and a little sad at the same time.  He’s so cute.  Tyson loved the fireworks and was so excited he almost ran into the street a few times.  After an extremely quick bath for my kids we then drove to Centerville to see their fireworks.  We sat in the parking lot by the van and was almost attacked by a spinning dragonfly.  It was really bizarre and hilarious.  We had a perfect view of the fireworks though along with a perfectly quick escape Smile  We sure missed my dad but it was fun to have mom here.  She gets very excited about this holiday.

Because Brian’s birthday was on the 1st we had Reese’s ice cream cake and sang Happy Birthday.  He’s 34 now.  On Brian’s real birthday he had to work but mom watched all of the boys and we went to see Man of Steel right at 7pm.

Then on the real 4th of July we all slept it.  It was fabulous.  We cleaned the house and just relaxed.  For dinner we had hot dogs and went outside for the kids to do their little ‘fireworks’ again.  The Davis’s were outside and got to join us.  We had a great time just hanging out.

Missing Andrew and a crying Jeffrey…

Sparkler time!  Andrew was still really unsure about it even though Grandma was trying to help him.

Yeah, he wanted nothing to do with them…

but he would sit on the steps and do pops with daddy.

Family Time

Since our Thanksgiving point membership was expiring, we went to Farm Country one last time.  We went on the last Wednesday in June since Brian has that day off.  It was HOT.  The kids loved the pony ride and feeding the goats.  Both boys really loved them eating the food out of their hands.  Then we went and ate lunch at the deli and of course got ice cream as well.

And this picture is of Jake and the boys.  He left for his mission on July 3rd.  On the 2nd there was a dinner and farwell of sorts at Ray and Wilma’s for Jake.  We know he is going to be an amazing missionary.  Just like when Brendan left for his mission, we got a picture so we can see how much everyone will grow in 2 years.
