First soccer game!

I am so happy we signed Tyson up for the 4-5 year old soccer league at the local recreation center.  His first game was the funniest and cutest thing I have ever seen.  My Ty guy looked so old, brave and cute running around out on the field.  A local fried, Jason Acosta, is the coach and he does such a great job with young kids.

Apparently Tyson started the game off by being a gentlemen and trying to make a girlfriend.  I don’t think she was having it.  Hahaha!

All of the kids chased after the ball the whole game.  We went over the rules with Tyson beforehand and he knew not to push the other kids so he was a little hesitant in getting into the center of the pack.

He helped score in the wrong goal at the start of the game :)  It was hilarious.

He got brave and tried to get into the center.

He got a turn as the goalie and totally shinned!  He was so brave and tried his very best to stop the ball. 

His first time he tried to kick the ball away. He missed but he tried so hard!  He gave us a thumbs up because we were cheering for him so loudly.

Andrew did great during the game.  A few times he got a little fussy and wanted out but he loved watching the big kids run around.

We could tell Tyson was getting a little frustrated from missing the balls so Brian went over to cheer him up and tell him that he can catch the ball with his hands since he’s the goalie.  He was very successful grabbing the ball.  He also really loved that he got to kick the ball as far as he could after catching it!

When he was waiting for the ball to come he picked flowers.  He wanted to run one to me but Brian told him to give it to me after since his team needed him.  Here he is running to me with the flower right after the game.  I love him.  So sweet and so thoughtful.

I volunteered for the snack after the game.  Capri Suns and bananas were a hit!  When did my Ty baby get so big?!?!?!

Thanksgiving Point

Since I got the family membership I have been trying to get our money’s worth.  It has been really fun!  I even like that I get 10% off the food.  We love the Deli there and I got ice cream at Thanksgiving Point on Friday, Saturday and Monday.  That’s embarrassing to admit…

Dinosaur Museum

I took the boys to the dino museum on Friday.  I loved that we could be there for as little as we wanted and knew that we could come back at any time!  Ty didn’t seem to care about seeing all of the fossils.  He just wanted to be in the play areas.  In fact, I have no idea how he remembered the fossil finding play area.  As soon as we saw the giant shark head he said, “Hurry Mom!  We gotta get to the sand!”  I don’t think we’ve been to that museum since 2009.

Angry Bird Adventure Family Night

On Monday we went to the Adventure Family Night.  I loved that it was free.  I had gotten an email earlier in the week about the upcoming activity but it wasn’t really descriptive on what it was.  Since Tyson loves the game Angry Birds I figured we’d give it a shot.  Brian had to meet us there and by that time we were pretty much done with all of the activities.  I think that was a good thing since he was in his nice work clothes.   He would have died because it was hot, like really hot. A little crowded and somewhat confusing.  Eventually we got the drift of it all and Tyson had a lot of fun.

The best activity was using the sling shot to try to hit the green pigs! Tyson was only going to get one shot and my mom knew if he didn’t do well he would be really upset. She asked the worker to help and that angry bird went far. Success!

He’s crazy

Andrew is crazy!!!  I remember Tyson being all over the place and non-stop and Andrew has started to follow that pattern too.  He started to really walk right around his 17 month mark.  If he is on the ground already he will crawl but if he pulls himself up onto something he starts walking all over the place.  He is so proud of himself when he walks.  His mouth opens really wide to a big huge smile and then he hold his arms high in the air and squeals.  It is adorable.  He is so good at walking now that I caught him drinking milk while walking.  Andrew gets into everything.  He has almost zero interest in toys but he loves the drawer that holds my glass pans, the pantry and dumping sugar everywhere, climbing on the dishwasher drawer, standing on the ottoman and banging the TV, changing channels on the TV, opening bathroom drawers, playing in the toilet and carrying a tube of diaper rash cream or lotion everywhere.  He’s my crazy little guy.  I have my hands full with him now.

If you aren’t familiar with the show The Bachelorette, then you can probably stop reading right here.

Jef Holm lives in the condo complex that we live in.  Jef and the bachelorette are adorable together and I hope it works out for them.  It has been fun having a celebrity walking around.  I was so nervous to ask for a picture.  It took me an hour to get up the nerves.  Jef told me that he was wet from water balloons and playing basketball.  I didn’t care, please.  I took a picture for another girl but it was on her phone.  It took me what felt like 5 minutes to take the picture.  I felt like such a idiot but my fingers were shaking so bad from meeting Jef that I kept tapping the wrong button on the phone and kept losing the setting.  Embarrassing.  I did say that I was just playing dumb so that the girl could stand next to Jef for longer. He chuckled but I am sure it was out of courtesy.

Jef, it has been fun.  We hope to see you more around the purple park when Emily and Ricki move in. 

Mom’s in town!

My mother flew into town from Belgium on the 5th.  Since then our days have been filled with shopping, more shopping, me sleeping in, doctor appointments, more shopping, eating out and the kids being spoiled by their grandma!  It has been non-stop since she has gotten here and we’ve loved it all!  The only thing that could make her trip better is if my father had been able to come too.  We love you dad!

Here is a picture from when my mom took us all out to Red Lobster for Brian’s birthday.  He gets to go to Red Lobster once a year :)

Ty got a little scared when the waiter pulled the lobster out.  He did eventually touch it very carefully.  I love Andrew’s face in this picture.

Since my brother’s family moved a few months ago an hour away we knew it would be tricky for my mom to see her other grandkids.  We had already planned a Lagoon trip but we needed to see them before then!  So we stayed the night at their house last Saturday.  We spent a day and half with them.  We went to Boondocks and bowled, played laser tag (which was one of my favorites.  Tyson loved it and I felt like a kid again running around!) and did the arcade. My mom was in heaven seeing everyone together and I know Ty was in heaven playing with his cousins outside in their backyard.  Andrew loved having all of the extra room to crawl and WALK around.  We stayed up late Saturday talking and laughing.  We went to church together too!  It was a great weekend to spend with family.

This little guy was in his stroller the majority of the game.  My wrist was starting to hurt half way through the 2nd game so we let Andrew take my turns.  He’s a pro at 17 months.  His little hand would come up and just push the ball.  It was so stinkin’ cute!

Our 4th of July…

…consisted of a Carl’s Jr. breakfast, vomit, and lots more vomit, homework, and that’s basically it.  It was a total bust. 

 

At least this little guy was completely better and got to dress up festive. 

The week leading up to the 4th was hard.  I ended up getting the sickness from Andy on Monday and Tuesday and then I passed it to Tyson on Wednesday through Saturday and now we think Brian might have it.  Nasty, nasty bug.  I would like to remember that on Wednesday night I was shy of 4 hours of sleep. Heavenly Father really helped me Thursday.  I was awake, alert and even tried to take a nap while the kids took naps but I just couldn’t fall asleep.  So I worked on chores instead.  I had the most patience I think I have ever had in my life.  It was a tender mercy from the Lord that day and I thanked him in my prayers for that.

That night we did watch some fireworks on TV.
