Chatting machine

Just in the last week and a half Andrew’s talking has exploded.  It has been so fun to wake up to him saying, “Mommy, all done.  I love you!”  Or when it’s time for bed he says, “Night-night, Love you.”  Much better then being woken up by babbles or screaming.  :)  He repeats much of what you say and it is so adorable.  I know that he knew what words meant but its so nice to hear them come out of his mouth.  This morning he walked up to Brian and said, “hungee”  (Hungry).  It was great that he can express himself instead of just start crying and us having to say, “are you poopy?  Blanket?  Hungry?” etc.  He is also starting to string together 2 word sentences.  It is just so fun and so cute.

I took this video the other day just to show how clear he is in his talking and repeating.  Enjoy!

 

Here is a picture of Andrew at his first dentist appointment.  All they did was check his gums because they come down really low between his two front teeth.  Guaranteed that kid will need braces when he’s older because those teeth will be super separated.

Happy Birthday Ty Ty

We celebrated Tyson’s birthday the day before since we knew Brian wouldn’t be home before bedtime on his real birthday.  We took cake and ice cream to Payson so Grandma and Grandpa Carlsen could celebrate with us.  The Grills were also able to join and I know Tyson loved that. 

 

And because I seem to never post videos anymore :)

The next day was his birthday and they celebrated it at school.  Here he is standing next to his birthday poster. For lunch we picked up McDonald’s and then he got to Facetime Grandma and Grandpa Murray while he opened his present from them.  Then Andrew came over and stole the ipad and was a complete ham with it.  He had to sit super close to it and all they could see was his diaper but he was repeating back everything they were saying.  Luckily Tyson didn’t mind because he had already ripped open the magnet package and went straight to work!

Ty’s Transformers Party

I was able to throw Tyson a Transformers/Rescue Bots birthday party for him and his friends.  He got to pick 10 friends.  I always wish we could invite everyone but we had to cut it off somewhere.  My friend Nikki made the invitation and Ty and I walked around and delivered them.  The thought occurred to me while delivering them that I can’t believe he is turning 5.  He would run up to the door, knock and hand over the invite.  Such a big boy!  He loved the invitation so much that I thought he was going to pee his pants with excitement.  Check it out.

The party had Transformer cupcakes and Autobot Fuel of course ;)

 

When the kids arrived they first got to build their own Transformer’s out of construction paper, glue and crayons.  They really got into it and went right to work!

Then they sat down on the rug and I told them about how Optimus Prime needed their help finding the Allspark before Megatron and the Decepticons.  I asked them if they were willing to help and if they won Optimus Prime had a surprise for them.  The shouted out that they were ready to help!

The first clue was about finding energy crystals on stair mountain.  The second was about rescuing the Autobots from the movie theater room.  The third was about how they had become infected with Atomic Metal Eating Rust and they had to eat a cure.  The next was finding Megatron and putting him in space jail.  Fifth was finding the energy spheres to help them complete the mission and lastly was finding the Allspark!

They were so excited between each clue and as it progressed they fell more and more into the story.  It was adorable to watch.

One kid shouted out while I was opening the box, “I WONDER WHAT’S INSIDE?!?!?!”  I couldn’t stop laughing

Next was Transformer Balloon Battle!  It got crazy wild and LOUD.  A few kids didn’t want to play, I didn’t even think about some kids being scared by popped balloons.  But after about 8 minutes only 2 balloons had popped so we put balloons back on those kids, had them all run around again and then pop their own balloons.  So the game didn’t end up how I thought it would be but it still was great.  Energy out and smiles on their faces!

 

Next were cupcakes and presents!

 

After all of that they got to play the Matching Game one more time, since they had asked earlier, while waiting to be picked up.  It was perfect.  What fun party.  Happy Birthday Tyson!!!

Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter season this year.  3 egg hunts, egg dying, a preschool party, a visit from the bunny and a 4 year old level talk with Tyson about what Easter is really about is how it all went down.

Our ward put on an Easter egg hunt and it was in the clubhouse due to inclement weather.  Outside pictures always come out best so these pictures are pretty blurry from the pure chaos of being inside.  Andrew held still long enough to get a few pictures.  He was holding still because he’d grab an egg, rip it open, throw the candy in his bucket and then toss the plastic egg to the ground.  I was following him around just picking up the deserted eggs and putting them in his bucket.  Tyson was done in all of 10 seconds so the only picture I got is him holding his bucket :)

 

The Friday before Easter was Good Friday, and the market was closed so Brian had it off.  I got to help out in Tyson’s preschool class.  I had a great time.  I got to hide the eggs, help the kids count how many eggs they had to be fair to everyone, and then I helped at the egg dying station.  The kids were cute and it was fun to see what Tyson does 3x a week.

On Saturday some neighbors threw together an impromptu Easter egg hunt, although it was more like a ‘candy in the grass’ hunt.  It was fun to let the kids have another go at it and this time outside.

Easter morning

Tyson was beyond excited that the Easter Bunny brought him and Andrew Wreck it Ralph and matching Thomas the Train bubble blowers.  Andrew ran right to MY basket, grabbed an egg, popped it open and shoved candy in his mouth.  We were laughing pretty hard.

And just for good measure here is how the photo went when I tried to have a turn with the boys.  Apparently Ty was the only one ready :)  This picture just makes me laugh.  I swear, its the story of my life.
