London III

We accidently slept in a bit but I think my family needed it.  The breakfast in London was a bit more to what we were use to in America.  It was delicious.  My mom wasn’t feeling well so went ahead without her.  Our first stop was Hamley’s toy store.  Apparently it is the oldest toy store and maybe the largest in the area?  It was huge.  If I remember correctly it had 6 levels.  The kids were in heaven.  My mom told my dad that he could buy each kid a toy.

The workers were so fun there.  This guy had a flying disc toy and he had it flying around Tyson and at the entrance there was a guy blowing tons of bubbles singing at the top of his lungs.

We loved traveling the tube.  Super efficient, easy and quick.  There was always a seat that said reserved for the elderly, pregnant women or mother’s with young children.  Almost every time if the train was full someone would get up and offer me the seat since I had Jeffrey.  The people of London were very nice.

Next up was Buckingham Palace!  It was so gorgeous and huge.  I didn’t think it was that big.

I read in a tourist book that the Queen wasn’t at the Palace when there are just a few guards.  I only saw 2 or 3 so I was sad knowing she wasn’t there.  LOL!

We went back to Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster.

We got pretty creative with where and how to change diapers.  At one point we had to change Andrew’s so Brian went up by the Abraham Lincoln statue that isn’t far from Big Ben.  As he was changing the diaper a large group of tourists sat right by us and started listening to the guide.  It was a little awkward. Like I said, we did our best to change diapers out of the way but sometimes even then we were still in the way.

On our way to Westminster and Big Ben we stopped and took some pictures by the infamous red telephone booths!

Andrew was pretty cranky waking up so Brian and Andrew were making sad faces together.

We decided to head home because it was getting to be dinner time and my feet were so sore.  I wanted to rest up so we could have a fabulous day the following day seeing Westminster Abbey closer up and Buckingham Palace.

London I

We woke up and headed out to the train station for London!  Apparently it was some sort of holiday and there were no workers in the Paris train station.  Because of the suitcases and stroller we couldn’t go through the normal train ticket station but no one was there to help us go through the handicapped gate.  So Brian and my dad had to lift everything over the gates.  While they were doing that we watched a young man hop over the ticket station and keep on going without paying.  I guess when you put NO workers there on a holiday that will happen.  On our way to London there was some sort of delay and the train stopped for about an hour.  That made it harder with Andrew but Brian survived. 

We checked into the hotel and went to a cute little sandwich shop and ate in the alley next to it.  I loved that about our trip to Europe.  People were always eating outside.  It was refreshing and it was beautiful weather.

Next up we headed to the The London Tower Bridge.

I found the colors that they painted it rather interesting but who am I to judge?

We went into the gift shop for me to try to find a music box.  I wasn’t successful there but we were able to stay out of the quick rain storm.

We stopped and sat on a bench facing the London Eye while I fed Jeffrey.  The older two were zonked out and we all sat and enjoyed the view for awhile.  We also watched lots of runners go by.  Most had a little back pack on and we gathered that they must have gotten off of work and changed into exercise clothes and ran home?  Anyway, very impressed with this country and their importance of health and fitness.  Most restaurants appeared to be relatively healthy as well.
