SYTYCD

So here is my quick review from last night's show.  I loved last night.  It reminded me of the first week with the top 20.  Some of the weeks through out the season I was a bit disappointed with some of the dances.  I actually sometimes got a little bored.  I never thought I would think that.  But back to last night, I pretty much liked every dance.  i loved Katee and Joshua's contemporary dance.  I liked Mark and Courtney's jazz dance.  It was a bit risque I will admit but it was good.  I also liked Twitch and Chelsie's hip hop dance.  The other three dances were good but those were my favorite three.  I actually voted last night for the first time this season.  Here are my selections for the top 4:

Chelsie

Mark

Joshua

Katee

I think Joshua is a better hip hop dancer than Twitch and I like Chelsie and Katee slightly better than Courtney.   I think the winner is going to be a really hard and close decision.  In the past seasons I was able to pick a favorite or two.  This season I really like the four that I mentioned.  All of them are very well rounded and seem to have a great personality (which let's face it, according to America that is a HUGE priority).  I can't wait to watch the results.  I hope my voting helped.  I voted about 6 times for each.

Basketball, toes, mobiles and more!

Alright, since I mentioned the camera that I got I have had lots of people dying to see some pictures.  I promise I still don't know what I am doing but the quality of the pictures are so much better than my other camera.  I don't have photo shop or anything yet so these pictures are not edited.

These few with the basketball were inspired by a gift Tyson received from Fin.  It is a Michael Jordan onesie.

My life...

I realized that I haven't really posted about what is going on lately.  I make posts about a show that I am totally addicted to (SYTYCD) and how I am exercising.  I know you check my blog and jump out of your seats when I post that crap.  So here is what is really going on...

*Please excuse the crammed sentences and how they don't even flow.  I didn't feel like making separate paragraphs and I just wanted to write*

My father left on Thursday morning to go back to Qatar.  I was devastated and cried.  My mother is still here visiting and is about to go to the Stampin' Up Convention which I totally wish I was going to.  However, I hate trying to sell things so I don't ever want to be a demonstrator.  A few weeks ago Brian and I spent part of our stimulus check to buy a Cannon Rebel XTI camera.  Did we pay a lot for a nice camera?  I like to think we got a great deal.  Do I love the camera? ABSOLUTELY!  I haven't posted any pictures from it yet though.  I suppose I am still not that great and right now I am just playing around with it.  I don't want every one to think how bad I am.  We got the camera b/c I love pictures and love to scrapbook.  I've always wanted to be a photographer (along with a dental hygienist, hair stylist, orthodontist, and wedding planner).  Who knows but maybe with time that might become a reality but I sure better practice some more : )  I am very excited b/c some of my best friends are having babies.  There are quite a few movies out that I really want to see.  I think next Friday my brother and sister in law will watch our baby so we can go.  I haven't felt like asking anyone to watch Tyson yet b/c I haven't let him cry himself to sleep yet.  Sometimes I feel that I am not very good for doing that but the doctor said it was okay.  However, I am getting ready for him to be able to do that.  I just don't feel like we can ask people to watch him and then have to go step by step with them on how we get him to sleep.  Tyson hasn't been sleeping that well with naps again lately.  I think it is time to get him to nap only 3 times during the day instead of 4 or 5.  He still sleeps great through the night which we are so grateful for.  On the 24th of July (a state holiday here in Utah) we went to Payson to see some of Brian's friends that he grew up with.  It was lots of fun.  Tyson loved the flashes of the fireworks.  I can't believe our little boy will be 4 months old so soon!  Brian's little brother, John, is getting married on 8/8/08!  I think that is so cool!  I am also really excited about the Olympics.  I just love watching the gymnastics.  Which reminds me, another thing I always wanted to be was a gymnast. Brian is going to start studying for the GMAT.  It is going to be a rough few years while he is in school but I know it will all be worth it.  Anyway, I suppose I am done with my rant.  I will post pictures next time I promise.  I just realized that this post isn't really about my life.  It is simply the type of thoughts that flow through my head on a day to day basis.

The Biggest Loser and So You Think You Can Dance?

I have two things to write about this morning.  First we will do the Biggest Loser.  I have decided to try out for the show...just kidding.  For real though I have two fitness DVDs that I LOVE.  Try these if you want a great work-out but want to stay in the privacy of your very own home.  Every time I do these I get painfully sore the next day.  It is such a great feeling : )  I know I will see results.  Brian even told me yesterday that he can see the difference in my legs!

Other great exercise DVDs that are low impact aerobic but are still a fantastic work out are Leslie Sansone's Walk at home DVDs.  I have the 4 mile walk and it is great.  It gets your heart pumping for 55 minutes straight.  I love it because on the days where I don't want an excruciating workout I can still get a good one in with this.

image I couldn't find the picture of the one I own but I imagine they are all great.

Now on to SYTYCD.  I was happy that Mark is still on the show but I really wanted Comfort to leave.  Just when we all thought we got rid of her she is back in.  They should have had Jessica be the one that got kicked off b/c she got injured.  Then they should have had Comfort come back to help one of the guys complete their dances but not come back to compete.  STUPID!!!  Now I loved loved loved Katee and Will's dance.  I really wish I could do that dance.  Beautiful.  That dance made me miss ballet so much.  I know I wouldn't ever do it half as good as they did but I would love to dance it.  This dance was so great I can't even remember any of the other dances from Wednesday.

California 2008

We got back on Sunday from our adventure from Green Valley, California.  We spent 10 days at my grandparents new house that they built.  Their house is beautiful.  I miss being in it already.  Here are some quick pictures of the house.

IMG_2461 Living RoomIMG_2470 Bathroom.  They have the coolest shower that has heated floors, a shower with no glass door and it has about 5 shower heads from every direction.

Honestly, these pictures don't do just to the beauty of this house.  There is also a theater room with a huge big projector screen and 4 leather theater seats! Brian and I were talking about how much we miss all the space.  We were trying to get Tyson to sleep and we felt like we were walking around in circles. Here are some more pictures from our trip!!!

Tyson's first time to the pool.  He slept almost the whole time in his stroller and never got in the water.  Man, look at my tan line on my arm!  I have got to work on that : )

Ferry boat ride into San Francisco.  Tyson had no idea he was on a boat but I think he enjoyed it.  I wish we could have stayed in San Francisco longer.  We walked down pier 39 which was full of interesting people.  I should have gotten a picture of the street freaks!  We also drove on the Golden Gate Bridge and drove down the Lombard street!

The Jelly Belly Factory!  Yum Yum!  The tour was fun b/c we got to see how jelly jeans are made.  We bought a Belly Flop bag at the end that has all the jelly beans that are misshaped and stuck together.  Tyson feel asleep on the tour.  Let's be honest, the tour wasn't really for him anyway : )

Tyson did REALLY REALLy good on his airplane rides.  He slept on both of them and hardly even cried.

The last day we were there we rode the BART train.  That was fun to see the cities fly by but the train in the tunnels was very loud.  I think we all walked away from the ride with huge headaches.  : )

All and all it was a nice vacation.  I got spoiled having Brian around 24/7.  We are all happy to be back in our own routines but miss being with family and the weather of California!

Grandparents, Blessing and Birthday

We have had a few busy days lately.  On Friday night Brian and I went to the airport to pick up my parents.  We got home at 2 am.  The next day consisted of getting food and making chicken salad for Tyson's baby blessing the next day.  Sunday was great.  Brian did a wonderful job giving Tyson his blessing.   We had lots of family and friends there to help and be with us on that special day.  The spirit was so strong.  I started crying before Brian even started the prayer.  Tyson truly is a gift from our Heavenly Father.  We love him more than we can even express.  Tyson looked adorable in his white outfit.  It was a long day and I was exhausted by the end,  but it was a day I personally will never forget.

Another special day was Brian's 29th birthday!  Brian got a new pair of shorts, some shirts, a men's apron from Flirty Aprons, and a new Wii game Super Smash Brothers.  He got cupcakes and we got to all go to Red Lobster for dinner.  I don't know if any of you watch The Next Food Network Star but I had Kelsey's White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Tilapia.  It was AWESOME.  I'm not the biggest fan of sea food but that dish was one of the best I have ever had.  I would hurry and get to that restaurant as fast as you can and order it before it is no longer on the menu (because it is just a special dish but I think they should make it permanent).  Friday morning we leave for California to see my grandparents.  We are all really excited to see their new house.  I most likely won't be making a new post for about two weeks but keep checking back after that.  I am sure I will have lots to share once we get back.  Here are some pictures from the last few special days we had.
