January randoms and phone pictures

We can’t wait to get grass in.  These floods in our backyard are starting to really worry me…

I have to mix the yogurt and oatmeal together for Jeffrey so he will eat a good breakfast.  He doesn’t seem to care for cereal at the moment and I don’t want him just eating yogurt. This time he wanted to do it himself and has started to refuse being fed. This means lots of clean up and lots of messes.  He even had the oatmeal mix by his eye!  But if he is going to flash me those smiles then I certainly can’t stop him.

My “I’m terrified, I hope I survive” face!  This before I headed into the theatre to be in charge of 30 students for 5 hours, ages 5-8.

The chaotic dressing room.

Some of my little students.  They did great!

Jeffrey’s first hair cut!  I loved his curls but he was getting a mullet in the back and they kept tangling up so we decided to give him a trim.  His hair hasn’t been the same since and I miss the baby curls.  He looks so grown up now!  He did great during the hair cut.  Just a few times he fussed and turned his head a lot while Brian was working but still do good for a little guy.

I don’t remember where we came from or why they were both asleep on the couch at the same time BUT regardless of the reason or when it happened, I was smart to document it.  This never happens.  Ever.

Jeffrey the trouble maker…he has lately gotten into SO many things.  I hoped and prayed he wouldn’t be so curious and destructive as the other boys but he is.  Pots and pans, climbing on the island for carrots (which he has been the pickest eater out of all the boys so far so if he wants to eat carrots on the island, I’m going to let him!) and dumping a bag of cereal all over the carpet.  I still have NO idea how he got the cereal…I’m guessing an older brother helped with that.  Although I am constantly cleaning up after Jeffy, he still is my little sweetheart.

Jeffrey in the Lederhosen

Following tradition with the lederhosen!  Jeffrey was 19 months old, around the same age as the other boys when we dressed them up.  Jeffrey is still so small that the lederhosen was a bit big but he still looked adorable in it.  I also just LOVE his curls and cheeser smile.

Monster Truck Rally

On January 3rd, with grandpa still in town, the oldest boys and dads and grandpa went to the monster truck rally.  Brian said the boys had a great time and Andrew actually fell asleep watching the trucks.  We still can’t figure out how that would even be possible to do…

While the boys did that, the girls shopped.  Afterward we met up with the boys at Chuck-a-rama for dinner.  It was super crowded but this restaurant has since become a favorite of my boys.

I kept getting asked what I wanted for my birthday but the older I get the more I struggle on figuring out what I want. I ended up asking for an oreo cake, an evening to celebrate with my family and games with my parents once the kids went to bed.  That’s exactly what I got and a Maurices gift card!

My mom bought some New Years Eve horns and cannons to celebrate with the kids before bed.  Mom and I thought they were just inside celebrating cannons but they weren’t!  Thankfully the boys were there to tell us or we would have had a big problem and a hole through the ceiling and roof. They shot above the house, made a loud pop noise and confetti went everywhere.  It was cold outside but the boys loved it!

Temple Square

Since my dad was in town for this Christmas we wanted to try out a few things we hadn’t done in awhile.  We decided on Temple Square and it was SO COLD!  We were freezing and Grandpa was a little bit of a baby about it (which made me laugh) and didn’t seem to have the right clothes to stay warm.  Luckily I brought extra things and he took the ear muffs.  He was a good sport though.  We ate dinner at City Creek and had fun with Mike and the kids too!

Sledding

The day after Christmas Brian took the older boys outside to go sledding in our backyard.  That is one FUN perk of having a retaining wall with a hill in your backyard.  It’s a small enough hill that you won’t get hurt but will still have tons of fun.  I only came outside to take pictures.  Jeffrey stayed inside with me since he is still pretty small and young.  I know next year I won’t be able to get away with that.

There is one part of the hill where there was a bump and sometimes that sent the kids flying or out of their sleds.

Andrew at first was nervous and had Brian take him down but once he found out how fun it was and watched Tyson he was good to go.
