Just a bit bored

Hey everyone.  I am just a bit bored.  I suppose I miss adult conversations and such.  Tyson's naps are so unpredictable that I don't feel like I can just take out all my scrapbooking stuff out and scrap away.  I need at least an hour and I never know if I am gonna get that time.  When he isn't sleeping I am usually playing with him or holding him to get him to not cry.  When I do those things I usually have the TV on.  I use to think all of this was fantastic but it does get a little old.  I have been reading a lot lately but I can only read for so long at a time.  I have gone on walks (one was to Macey's which took FOREVER.  That walk was either 3 or 6 miles...felt like 6).  Nothing is really that close to where I live so I generally walk around the compound but that gets old.  My friends in the ward work during the day so I can't hang out with them.  I haven't really driven much because of the gas prices.  I would love to walk around the mall to waste time and get out of the house but with gas and and I worry that I might actually buy something.  We're on a tight budget so there isn't room for me to just go buy things.  I have done the laundry and cleaned the house.  I have wasted time on the internet but I never know what to look for or how to do it.  I am kinda a shy person so I don't really feel like I can just randomly call up people to hang out.  But I suppose that is what I should do.  Lots of mothers stay home around here.  I just need to take advantage of it.  Easier said than done because I really hate talking to people on the phone.  I would much rather do email or talk in person.  blah blah blah.  I guess I shouldn't write on here when I am in a blah mood.  I hope I haven't bored all of you by reading my blog that I wrote while I was bored : )  Please don't misunderstand me and think that I don't like staying home with Tyson. I really do.  I know that I am not alone in thinking this way.  I have heard many mothers say the same thing.  I just always thought I wouldn't be like this because I don't get easily bored.  Alright, that is enough complaining.  I know what I need to do...I just need to do it!

ANYWAY, Tyson is doing great.  He is such a cutie.  I love it when he smiles at me.  It just melts my heart.  He loves laying on the ground and watching me working out with the Wii Fit game.  He must be thinking how silly his mom looks trying to balance on one leg or doing lunges.   I tell ya, that game is great!  I use it every other day and it helps me with strength training exercises.  We have an elliptical machine so I use that and alternate with the Wii Fit.  I highly recommend it b/c it is fun too!  Tyson is liking the swing more now...finally : )  I never understood why he didn't enjoy it.  He is also developing his bald spot and losing some hair.  It is pretty sad b/c his hair was so thick and dark and adorable.  That's okay.  It will come back.  Tyson is opening his hands more and starting to really suck on his hands.  We think Tyson enjoys bath time for the most part.  Sometimes he cries and sometimes he doesn't.  Tyson can hold on to a toy for like a minute.

I love So You Think You Can Dance.  I think it is gonna be a great season.  I pretty much liked almost all the dances.  Every dancer seems to be really strong.   The only thing that I am noticing is that every year some of the dances seem to be a little bit more risque.  Is that the right spelling?  Anyway, I guess they do that for ratings but they don't need to.  I still think the same amount of people would still watch the show.

Alright since this entry is a mile long I will end it.  Thanks for reading and listening to me whine : )

2 MONTHS OLD!

Hello again!  Tyson turned 2 months old yesterday.  It seems like yesterday he was born.  It is so fun to watch him grow.  The doctor appointment went well today.  He was in a pretty good mood.  The shots were hard to watch but it is for good health. Here are his stats:

Height: 23.5"  (75%)

Weight: 10 lbs 15 oz (25%)

Head: (25%)

Needless to say, he is our skinny tall boy!

On Saturday we all went to to a friends house for a barbeque with the girls I use to dance with in college.  Some of the girls danced after I stopped but I pretty much knew everyone.  Here is a picture.  I am not holding Tyson in this picture because Brian was and I didn't want to disturb him.  Such a sad story why...a picture frame fell off of the hosts TV and hit Tyson's head.  It was so sad.  It is his first boo-boo : )  It has already healed but I put a picture up of what it looked like the day after.  He was sound asleep when it feel on him.  Bless his heart...I just wanted to cry with him.

Okay, if you look closely it is the two red lines right before his hair line.  It looked bad for about an hour but I took this picture the next day.  Like I said, it is already gone but I know it HAD to hurt him.  His poor cry and the frame was heavy.

Many faces of Tyson

On a more lighter note here are a few of my favorite pictures of Tyson over the last week or so.  It is amazing how much he is changing in such a short amount of time.  He is so adorable...

Um, we are out of room on our camera again...Can anyone tell that I love taking pictures?  I just can't help it.  I scrapbook so when he does something I instantly grab the camera and snap away.  As I am taking the pictures sometimes a lay-out for the page comes to my mind.  I am ridiculous!  : )

Daddy feeding Tyson

Alright so I finally got a picture of Brian feeding Tyson.  I know it sounds so silly but I was so excited.  This was Tyson's second time to take a bottle and it was so cute to watch.  You might be thinking, "Uh, Ashley you watch Tyson feed all day long," but it was just so cute to watch Brian get to do it.  He was so caring as he did it and he was so conscious of making sure the bottle was tilted up so that he would swallow less air.  I didn't even have to tell him that.  Brian is such a good father.  He loves Tyson so much and he is really starting to think about how to support our family solely and it means the world to me.  It is so hard these days to keep up with bills on one income.  We are just trying to do our best to do what we know the Lord wants for our family.  I realize that some situations call for different circumstances.  Every family is different and we all have to call upon the Lord to figure out what works best for us.  Brian is looking into possibly going back to school to get an MBA.  We are in the middle of praying and fasting to figure it all out.  Decisions are so hard to make now that we have a little child to care for.  I suppose we have officially entered the "adult" world.  I always thought that happened when you get married but I look back and that was so simple.  : ) Anyway, I could go on forever...here are a few pictures from last night.

Ballet Girls

On Wednesday I went to Stephanie's house for a little playgroup.  I realize that Tyson can't play so it was really just for me : )  Anyway, it was my first time seeing these girls that I danced with at BYU in awhile.  I didn't really talk much because I was trying to keep Tyson happy but I had a lot of fun.  I knew I missed these girls but I don't think I realized how much until I got together with them.  It sure brought back some wonderful memories for me.  I use to be so silly in ballet class but I feel like I have become more mellow the last while.  I really should dig back into being silly again.  That was so much fun!  I have a feeling that Tyson is gonna bring that all back out : )  Thanks Kate for posting the picture.  I didn't want to deal with setting the timer on my camera.

Tyson had one bad night Wednesday.  He woke up every 3 hours.  I couldn't believe how tired I was.  I have no idea how I did that for 5 weeks straight.  However, last night he did really well sleeping from 10:30 to 6:45.  I suppose at this point this is just a guessing game on what he will do.  I am trying to not have him sleep so much during the day but at the same time find a balance to where he doesn't get over tired.  Being a mom sure is difficult in so many ways and I know I have only just begun.  However, being a mom is so rewarding as well.  I just love Tyson so much I can't even begin to explain it...

***Smiles caught on camera***

So yesterday we finally caught our little guy smiling on camera!  He is so cute.  At this point we can only get him to smile after he has gotten lots of sleep!  I can't believe that tomorrow he will be 7 weeks.  We really need to get to wal-mart and develop our pictures because our memory card is too full!  That is how many pictures we take!  Here are some adorable pictures.  (His smiling pictures are a little blurry because with the flash on we could barely see the picture and then without the flash I have to hold the camera still and that was hard to do b/c I was sooo excited!)  By the way, Tyson took his first bottle given by dad on Thursday.  I was at an Enrichment dinner.  It was bitter sweet for me because I was so proud of him but sad that I missed it.  I know that sounds kinda silly.  Also, Tyson was in the swing for like 30 minutes.  That is his new record.  He just doesn't seem to like it very much at all!

Insurance madness continues but at least I see smiles!!! : )

Oh boy!  So just when you think your insurance and all the claims are worked out crap hits the fan!  Geeze!  These last two days have been crazy with phone calls and trying to send faxes and everything.  Poor Tyson.  I feel like I have been neglecting him for two days!  I have had no other choice to put him in his crib and let him cry.  I couldn't hold him and talk on the phone at the same time (b/c I couldn't hear over his crying) and Tyson doesn't like the swing, the bouncy seat or anything else!  Despite the neglect I am pretty sure he still loves me. : )  I know this because this morning Tyson SMILED at me.  He always seems to be the happiest right after I feed him in the morning after his 6 to 7 hour stretch of sleep.  Yes that is right, for the last 5 days Tyson has been consistently sleeping from 6-7 hours straight at night.  Now I never know at what time at night this will start.  It has been anywhere between 10:30 pm to 12:00 am.  Tyson has smiled at Brian once or twice and once or twice to me.  I haven't captured it on camera yet because his smile lasts for 2 seconds but it is a smile and I am pretty sure it isn't gas.  : )  Sorry I have no new pictures to post right now.  But I just wanted to brag about Tyson beginning to smile and him sleeping through the night.  Tyson turned 6 weeks old yesterday!  We love him so much!
