A little bit of everything...

Hey everyone!  Not much is going on.  Tyson is tearing up the house everyday but it keeps him happy so that is fine with me and Brian.  It only takes like 10 minutes to pick back up at night.  Can you imagine what Tyson thinks first thing in the morning? Oh YAY!  They cleaned it all up so now I can make messes again! He is a cutie.

I am keeping busy with trying to choreograph five dances for the Spring Concerts everywhere.  It is fun but takes a lot of time because I am such a perfectionist.  Brian is busy too.  Most of you know what is going on with him and our family right now.  He has been trying to look for a new job the last 2 1/2 months.  This economy is a killer.  He has applied to over 90 positions but nothing seems to stick.  If you know of anywhere let us know.  We are trying to keep up the faith that things will fall into place sometime.  We are very blessed that he still has a current full time job and that is a huge blessing.  We have lots to be thankful for!

Here is a peek of what the kitchen tends to look like around noon.  I have a drawer full of dish towels that Ty loves to pull out.  I use to have glass pans in that drawer but decided I should switch it to harmless items he could play with. 

On Saturday my friend Heather had her baby shower.  I made a diaper cake as a decoration and a present.  It surprisingly didn't take me that long and it was really fun to make.  I wish I could have put everything I recommend on it but you have to draw the budget line somewhere!  Here is a picture of the diaper masterpiece :)  Included were some burp cloths, wash clothes, nail clipper, thermometer, nasal aspirator, comb, brush, baby wash, and Avent bottles. 

        

 

I think this picture of Heather is so cute.  You can tell she is just so happy and genuine, ya know?

             

And of course, I have to throw in another picture of Tyson.  He was at the shower with me.  He really liked the other little boys there and the big blue cups!

Toilet paper and some steps

Tyson has taken 2 steps quite a few times in the last 4 days however, it seems like he is falling on that second step.  When he walks (or goes like 3 or 4 steps) I will let you all know.  I am sure it will happen soon here. I have tried to catch some of those little steps on camera but I just can't get it.  I can tell he gets tired of crawling because he tries to walk along EVERYTHING!

Our Valentines Day consisted of a dinner at McGrath's Fish House and shopping at the mall.  I found $120 black high heeled boots at Macy's for $42.  Major sale!  I am really excited about them and like them a lot.  It was fun to shop around!

He is so cute!  We love him so much.  He's so fun at this stage and we are really enjoying ourselves.  He is certainly "talking" up a storm.  He loves Cheerios, Kix, Gold Fish, water, juice and basically anything I will give him off of my plate.  We pretty much give him whatever as long as it doesn't have peanuts or honey in it!  He is a fantastic eater.

Around the house

There are about a million other things I should be doing right now but oh well.  Here are some pictures of Tyson around the house.

Tyson loves his new toy box that he got for Christmas.  Sometimes when Tyson is really fussy Brian will sit him in the toy box and he will play for about 20 minutes in there.  Eventually he will start to whine to get out after he has found his desired toy to play with outside of the box.  He is so funny! 

Fingers in the mouth is a new thing for him.  He did it when he was really little but he just started doing it again.

 

Tyson is obsessed with the dishwasher.  He tries to get the items off of the top rack and tries to climb onto the lid.  He races over to the dishwasher when I am trying to do the dishes and he screams when I finish and close it up!

              

 

Ty also loves the drums set from Rock Band.  We keep it in my parent's room and he knows exactly where it is.  If I forget to shut their door this is what happens...

I don't know how to post a video through Windows Live Writer so I will make another entry to post the video.

Nap Time..zzzz

Recently Tyson hasn't been able to decide if he wants to take one nap during the day or two.  Some days he'll take a nap for 3 1/2 hours and other days it will be 2 naps at 2 hours a piece.  I never know what he wants to do so I let him just tell me by how fussy he is.  On one day where he insisted on only taking one nap I put him in the Jumperoo and after 15 minutes of straight jumping I found him like this...

So I quickly pulled him out of the Jumperoo and laid him down in his crib.  I think he slept over 3 hours. : )

On Saturday we went to the car show.  It is a Carlsen family tradition to go every year.  Here are some pictures of Tyson and daddy by a Maserati and a Ferrari!

A lady walked by and said while I was snapping the photo, "Taking a picture of your first car little guy?!"  Brian and I had a good laugh with that one...

Dressed for spring in the middle of winter!

My mother wanted to see this dress on me and Brian thought I looked really nice so we went outside for some pictures.  Since the dress is probably more of a spring dress I was freezing.  Just some fun shots to show off the dress and the beautiful BUT cold winter in Utah.
