Pumpkins
I suppose we all go to the pumpkin patch in October no matter where we are. I have some friends that just posted pictures from their pumpkin patches in Texas and Washington. I guess we all can't help ourselves when our kids look really cute around those round, orange pumpkins! I spent a few hours at my friend's house on Saturday while Brian was at his GMAT prep course. We had decided to go to the patch that day when he got out of the test. We were able to go with my friend Lindsey and her husband, Rob, to the patch. It was a lot of fun and we all seemed to have trouble committing on which ones to buy. Brian, Tyson and I each got a pumpkin that represents our size. This was our first time and it was lots of fun. Thanks Linds and Rob for going with us! This patch was great. If you want to know where it is let me know. It was really neat to look at them all attached to the vines.
Our little pumpkin. He did not want to sit still. He wanted to touch every single pumpkin!
Me and Ty!
Friends forever!
Tyson with Daddy! And below are some group shots at the end!

Flirty Aprons and Pumpkin Cookies
On Sunday night Brian and I decided to make some cookies. I had watched Good Things Utah a few days back and saw Kneaders share their recipe for Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies! Well we made the cookies in our Flirty Aprons and had a fun time! The cookies are really, really, really amazing and let me just say I have had about 10 cookies in the last 2 days. TRUST me, you want to check out this recipe and see/taste for yourself. I am not even that big of a fan of pumpkin but I loved 'em. If you want the recipe click here (it is under Kneaders Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies). If you want to buy a cute apron, which I know you do (some friends of ours own this company!), click here. : )
"Pink Chocolate" for me and "BBQ King" for Brian!
And the cookies...yum!

6 month pictures
I realize that I just made a post yesterday (so make sure you read the post below as well) but I can't wait any longer to post these pictures. I took them yesterday and I am really happy with how they turned out. Keep in mind I don't have photo shop or anything and I am still learning how to take pictures. I know that sunlight is key so he was as close to the open window as I could get him. The last two are my favorites I think but I like them all.

Where did the time go? 6 months old today!
I am having a hard time realizing that Ty is 6 months old today. Where did the time go? Seriously! Anyway, quite a bit has gone on the last few days. After the scare of learning that Tyson wasn't growing and fell off of his growth curve by alot we decided to heed the Dr. orders. We started feeding him baby food (rice cereal) on Saturday. It was an interesting experience. He hated it. He didn't want anything to do with the rice cereal. We figured it was just because he didn't know how to swallow it. We gave it to him again on Sunday and it was a little better but not much. Same thing happened on Monday. Brian yesterday started feeding it to him again and he was crying and spitting it all out. So, we opened a can of butternut squash and mixed it with the rice cereal and he couldn't get enough of the yummy goodness! I guess he hated the crappy taste of rice cereal. We're glad he is liking the food now: ) Monday we also gave him a bottle of formula and he didn't mind it at all. He never fussed or cried. He is used to getting a bottle here and there but it usually isn't full of formula. I'm glad he doesn't mind it because we need to beef that baby boy up! So now were are feeding him baby food and a bottle of formula once a day and the rest of the time is still breast milk. Hopefully this all helps so I can still nurse him some. I'm not ready to give it all up yet. In fact when Brian gave him his first bottle of formula on Monday I broke down and cried. Seems silly but I just missed it. Here are some pictures from the baby food. They are only from the first and second try of him hating it : )
Getting ready!
First bites!
This is horrible Mom and Dad!
Next is how I finally decided it was time to have him cry himself to sleep for naps. He has done awesome at night after the first week of practice. We started this conference weekend and he cried before each nap for about an hour to an hour and half. He can be so stubborn! Yesterday was a nightmare with him only taking one nap that was an hour and half. But I see the light at the end of the tunnel because he cried for only 5 minutes this morning which means that he is getting the hang of it. YAY! Here are some goofy and adorable pictures of Tyson and Dad during General Conference!
On Monday night we decided to give Tyson his first hair cut. His hair always naturally sticks up. However, the last month the few hairs in the front started curling back and well, I wasn't a big fan. So, I cut the front to even it out a bit and it looks cute. Here are some before and after pictures.
I think I did such a good job that I am now taking appointments for anyone who wants a haircut! Just Kidding!
Happy 6 Month Birthday Baby Tyson! We love you!
