Cornbellys

I got a Season Pass to Cornbelly’s off of Groupon earlier in the month.  We finally made it out and had a wonderfully FREEZING but FUN time.  It was fun for Brian to come along this year.  I can’t believe how cold it was.  We had the kids dressed up warm enough but Brian and I were pretty cold.  I was grateful to have Andrew in the carrier on me.  He helped keep me warm.  We got hot chocolate there (it came with the passes) and Tyson was begging for some and we tried to explain that it was hot and he does not like hot things or warm for that matter.  He wouldn’t let it go so Brian let him try it.  He spit it out so fast and then screamed.  We felt bad but he didn’t understand it and we knew that it wasn’t dangerously hot.  Once it cooled off and was barely warm we tried to give it to him and of course he profusely refused. 

He loved all of the wooden play gyms.  There was a sign that said the are for sale at the end of the season.  There were some really cool ones.  Made me wish that A) We had tons of money to buy one and B) Had a giant backyard for it. 

They had some really fun bike/car races, a giant hay stack with slides, a cow train, a giant pillow jump and much more!

These horse race bean bag things were pretty funny to watch.  Watch Tyson in this video!

Andrew is crawling?! Kind of ;)

He is so funny.  I didn’t even realize he was ‘crawling’ until Brian told me to watch.  I had in my mind that crawling isn’t until they are up on their hands and knees but Andrew certainly makes his way around doing his army-type crawl.  He is so cheerful.  We sure do love him.

Here is another video but of Andrew in his Jump-a-roo.  He loves this thing and so do I.  He can be in it for well over an hour and it makes him nice and tired so he takes fabulous naps.  If you want a good laugh watch this.

And just for memories here is Tyson pretending to be on America’s Funniest Home Videos.  We were watching it one Sunday and he thought it was hilarious and wanted to be just like the people on the show.  He kept calling it Funny Commercial!  Mom, make sure Dad sees this video :)

Hee Haws

Tyson had his first field trip with his preschool on the 10th of October and it was at Hee Haw Farm.  It was cute and he had a lot of fun!  We went earlier in the year but now that he is a little older he seemed to enjoy it even more :)

He got to feed the goat (is that a goat?) a piece of pumpkin but Tyson freaked out and and dropped it right in front of him.

Corn maze…I decided I do not like corn mazes.  We were blindly following the group and I just don’t like not knowing where we are going.

Pumpkin patch.  I made Tyson pick the smallest pumpkin he could find because I was not going to be carrying it around for the next hour.  Sometimes I am not a nice mom.

Halloween Cookies

With all the fun things he does at preschool I decided I should be a better mom and do fun things with him and not worry about a mess.  That is usually my hold up but Tyson is only going to be 3 once in his life and it’s time I quit worrying about messes. 

We were at the grocery store and he found some Halloween sprinkles and asked if he could eat them.  I told him he could eat them off of cookies so I got all the supplies and we got to work on Sept. 30th.  It was a fun afternoon with lots of messes.  He helped place the cookie cutters into the dough and put sprinkles on but realized he was putting too much so asked me to do that.  Once there was no more room on the cookie sheets I let him roll out the extra dough.  He loved it.  I’m pretty sure he thought he was a such a big boy.  I enjoyed watching him roll the dough into a ball, roll it out with the rolling pin and then try to use the cookie cutters all by himself.  It was a great afternoon!

Preschool

I can’t believe I haven’t blogged about this!  I was scrolling back and realized I missed it.  Tyson started preschool right after Labor Day and he LOVES it!  He goes on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 2 hours in the afternoon.  He tells me things like, “Thanks for taking me to preschool mom”  when I pick him up.  Melts my heart, seriously.  I mean it is a little bit of a sacrifice to pay for it but when he says stuff like that to me it is worth it.  He tells me he loves to go and see Miss Jenny and McKell and his friends.  He knows two boys in his class, Corgan and Cohen.  So far he hasn’t mentioned anyone else.  He had sharing time a few weeks ago and he took a milk freight car and Salty the diesel engine.  He makes fun crafts and brings them home.  Crafts like painting (which I would never do just because of the fear of it getting everywhere).  I wish I could keep it all but I can’t.  I hang the crafts on the fridge for a few days and then it is gone.  I should take some pictures of his favorite things that he has made.  He can completely recite Mary Had a Little Lamb and can count to about 15.  He loves to count everything now.  He also loves to shout out colors.  Like I said, he is loving preschool and is learning a lot.  He doesn’t really like to do his homework (I hope this isn’t a foreshadowing of the future).  His homework is basically tracing letters but I’m not gonna push it.  His teacher also said that he does well and listens.  I was happy to hear that since he isn’t the best listener (especially to Brian and I). 

Here is my big boy on his first day of preschool.  He now has a Thomas the Train backpack.  I was really sad because I couldn’t find his Thomas one on the first day :( 

 

This picture completely shows off his personality.  CRAZY!  He was running around super speedy because of how excited he was to go. 

And for a good laugh here are some funny things that Tyson has said lately.

He says “I got, forgot.”  So instead of saying, “Oh no!  I forgot my train!” he says, “Oh no!  I got forgot my train!”

While buckling him up in the car one day he said, “Mom, you need to drive safe.  I have my Legos in the car.” 

Another time while buckling him up in the car he said to me, “Mom, why is your hair like that?”  Yeah, so I wasn’t having the best hair day and he noticed.  My 3 year old noticed.  LOL!  Oh geeze!

He cracks me up most days :)

Happiest Baby on the Block!

I found him asleep by Brian one night.  He never does this for me.  Why is it he does this kind of stuff for Bri?  :)

I came home to the house one Wednesday afternoon and Ty was missing.  This is where he was.  Brian said he feel asleep holding Andrew and when he woke up he couldn’t find Ty.  He was asleep in our ottoman with the top closed!!! He opened it and Ty just kept sleeping away.  I’m not sure how he could fall asleep in there with the top closed.  Seriously?!  I would have freaked out!

And for fun because I love this picture even though it is blurry.  Having fun at Costco.  I love that they can sit side by side in those massive carts :)

  

State Fair and taking the bottle

On the 17th of September I signed up to work at the Utah State Fair at the Usborne Booth in the evening.  I was still nursing and that kid wouldn’t take a bottle for anything so Brian walked around with the boys while I worked so that I could feed him around dinner time.  Tyson had a lot of fun seeing pigeons, cows, bunnies and goats.  I think almost every weekend since then he asks if we are going to go to the Fair.  The Usborne Booth was great and I learned a lot about myself.  Usborne is really showing me who I can be.  I don’t know if that makes sense but I am happy :)

As you can tell by the grin of Tyson’s face in EVERY picture he had a wonderful time.

The following weekend we decided it was time to quit nursing.  He would basically refuse to eat and it became too stressful for everyone.  With teaching dance and doing Usborne parties I was too worried about having to leave Brian or a babysitter with a crying baby that refused to eat.  I was really sad about it but I told myself it was for the best.  It has been about 2 weeks and I am still sad about having to give it up.  I thought I would make it to a year. I have to reassure myself that I did the very best I could.  I only made it 6 months or so with Ty so I try to be happy about making it almost 8 months with Andrew.

It took 3 days of hell.  I cried a lot and so did Andrew.  Finally by the 3rd day he quit fighting it and gave in.  He hasn’t looked back since and to be honest it is kind of nice to not worry every time I need to leave him.  He has been the best baby and the bottle thing was his only issue.  I am happy now that Brian and Tyson can feed Andrew and be a part of that.  Even Andrew can feed himself sometimes (if the blanket is propped up just right!)
