Long post

Sorry about the few weeks delay in the updates here.  With the Holidays I took a little break and then I’ve had a hard time convincing myself to update this because I have so much to share.  This will be a long post.  I’ll start with the earliest pictures and work through them.  Thanks for looking!

Dec. 15th

When I saw Tyson like this I thought to myself, “I think Tyson needs to spend some more time with his daddy.” : )

Brian and I celebrated our 4th anniversary.  We went and saw Utah Regional’s The Nutcracker!  I loved it and those dancers are beautiful!  Made me miss dancing and the Nutcracker I grew up doing with Kingwood Dance Theatre!  Hard to watch other Nutcrackers when you’ve danced it a certain way for 12 or more years!  Earlier in the day I received an email that I had gotten picked from an audition I did on the 12th to be in Wasatch Ballet’s and the City of Orem’s production of “Life in A Labyrinth”!  I will be performing in April on a stage, in Pointe shoes, in a costume…everything!  Very exciting!  I’ve been dying to get on a stage again so this will be perfect!  I’ll let everyone know info on tickets and such as it gets closer so you can come see me perform (if you live close that is)!  It has been almost 5 years since I’ve been on a stage!!!!

Dec. 24th

Christmas Eve with the Carlsen’s.  We had a great time with almost all of the Carlsens (we missed you Terry and Marilyn family!) doing the Christmas Eve traditions.   Christmas songs, reading the Christmas passages of Christ’s birth, opening one present and so forth.  Earlier in the day Brian and I got to go skiing!  We had a blast!  Brian and I both fell a few times and were sore the next day but it was worth it.  I felt like I was really getting the hang of things but once I started falling down later in the day I started to get a little scared.  I certainly didn’t want to be breaking any bones.  : )  Thanks Dave for teaching us how to ski.  By the way, could you send us that picture?  Thanks!

Dec. 25th

I woke up Christmas morning feeling awful!  I could barely move and I felt sick to my stomach.  I thought I may have picked up a sickness (because Maddie woke up sick and Jenny had gotten sick the night before) but I never threw up or anything.  I was just soooooo tired and wanted to sleep.  I think it was exhaustion.  I am sad I was so exhausted.  I had never felt that way before.  I didn’t really want to open presents and I didn’t have energy to take pictures or want to be in any.  Here a few that we got.  Most were taken by Brian or our nephew, Jake…thanks!  We got some great things.  It was a good day once I went back to bed for 3 hours…not…even…kidding.

Wondering whether to open a new present or keep playing with the puzzle he got…

Once he opened this he didn’t want to open anything else and he started throwing fits when we kept taking it away. : )

Throwing a fit..

IMG_9110

This is how I was the whole morning.  I had a stack of presents in my lap and I was super slow at opening them.  Just didn’t have the energy.  I don’t look excited about my stuff but I was excited on the inside : )  I am sad that we didn’t even get a family picture on Christmas.  That’s how out of it I was.  Me and pictures go to together like Oreos in ice cream.  The thought to take a picture didn’t even occur to me at the time.

IMG_9112

Christmas wasn’t as adventurous as I thought it was going to be.  I thought Tyson would really love it but he was cranky and got mad when we wouldn’t rip a toy out of the box right away.  It was a nice day, don’t get me wrong, but certainly didn’t turn out how I thought it was going to be.

I started doing a work out program called P90X.  It is intense and it is HARD!  I have a goal of losing 7 pounds before the performance in April.  This program is suppose to have you RIPPED in 90 days.  We shall see.  I am working hard and doing my best to keep up.  I can already tell a difference in my arm strength in a week.  Hopefully the legs and abs will follow soon.  I am sore every single day so it has to be working…right?!  Here are a few pictures of Tyson workin’ out with me. He’s carrying a 2 lbs. weight.  He tries to do some of the stuff with me.  It’s funny, trust me.

IMG_9124 IMG_9123

Tyson is growing like crazy and starting to repeat words that I say.  He’ll point to a picture in a book, I’ll say what it is and he’ll usually repeat it to the best of his ability.  He is a handful but sure is a cutie!  Our lives are so great because of him.  Our love for one another has grown through him! : )  Tyson is OBSESSED with balls right now.  See what I mean?  Lounging around in a laundry basket with all the balls he could find.  Silly kid.

I turned 25 on the 31st.  Can’t believe I’m really that old now.  I know it’s young but when I was 16, 25 seemed so far away and here it is.

I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday and that everyone is back into their usual routines.  I know we are.

Santa!

Santa made an appearance at the ward Christmas party!  I expected Tyson to be fine with Santa because he does so well about going to whomever, whenever.  He fussed for a second and had this really confused look on his face.  I bet he was wondering why this guy in red with a big white beard called Santa was holding him.  He put on a happy face right after Santa handed him a treat.  He ran up to Brian afterwards to show him his treat.  Christmas will be fun this year.  We’re excited for Tyson to understand Christmas a little better.  I am sure he’ll be throwing fits right and left when we take a toy away for him to open the next : )

Gingerbread House

On Sunday night we decided to decorate a Gingerbread House!  I thought that Tyson would try to destroy the entire thing within seconds, but he did a great job.  He sat and watched Brian and I.  Brian decorated one side and I the other.  I got off my chair to get some extra candy and I turn around to this adorable sight…

IMG_9048

He grabbed some candy and started placing the candies kind of how I was doing it.  I was really proud of him.

IMG_9051

Then he started eating some of the candy…

IMG_9052

Daddy helped some…

IMG_9053

Very proud of himself!

IMG_9055

Love that chubby little hand!  You can tell his pieces are the non-traditional Christmas colors : )

IMG_9064

Admiring his work…IMG_9066

And of course throwing a huge tantrum when we were finished.  He does this anytime he doesn’t get what he wants.  Just a hard life ya know?!

By the way, Tyson is picking off the gum drop pieces off the very top of the roof as I am typing this.  I don’t think the candy on that house is going to last much longer : )

Ty’s personality

Here are some pictures from this past week.  He is showing off his personality.

The Box: (I will narrate what I think Tyson is thinking)

“Look mom, I found a box!”

IMG_9032_edited-1

“Boy oh boy, these white thingies are fun!”

IMG_9034_edited-1

“Am I suppose to be playing in here…am I in trouble?”

IMG_9037_edited-1

“Guess not, YAY!”

IMG_9038_edited-1

After about 10 minutes he did get in trouble.  We told him it was time to clean up and he dumped the box out of the ones we had cleaned up.  He got a time out for that one.  Man those little popcorn pieces were everywhere.

The Bag:

“This is so fun!  I’m in a bag!  Dada is so funny!”

IMG_9041

“What?  Why am I on the couch?!  I want to do it AGAIN!”

IMG_9043

“I guess I’m in a bag…but why am I in a pink one?”

IMG_9044

The Apron:

“I am wearing an apron just like Momma!”

IMG_9026

“I dug through a drawer and found this HUGE phone”

(He found my old calculator.  He thinks it’s a phone)

IMG_9028

Hope you can see some of his personality in these pictures.  I should have captured more photos of him throwing his tantrums.  I will get pictures of those next time : )

Thanksgiving and Max!

Hello all!  Sorry about not posting in awhile.  Let’s just say I haven’t been in the mood.  You know how it goes.  Every now and then we all get doing other things.

So Thanksgiving was fun!  It’s always great to be around family.  The Holidays are a little bitter sweet for me.  Thanksgiving and Christmas especially make me really miss my parents.  I was telling a friend tonight that I haven’t spent a Christmas with my parents since 2006.  Isn’t that sad?  Anyway, back to Thanksgiving.  Last week we all got sick with some nasty stomach bug.  I had it the day before Thanksgiving so I was a little hesitant in eating a lot.  Besides having “the sickness” (as my brother calls it) we had a lot of fun!  Great fun and always good conversation.  Perhaps the favorite in Brian’s family is planning out our Black Friday shopping!  We were successful this year.  Here are some pictures from Thanksgiving.  (Tina, you can copy these pictures I think.  If not, tell me and I’ll email them : )

Savanna!  Look at those baby blues!!!

Tyson showing off his food I guess!  Sorry about posting it but I couldn’t help myself.  This picture just screams Tyson ; )

He didn’t eat much food.  I think he filled up on juice…

Sean and Kaelin!

More family.  It isn’t the greatest picture but I wanted to hurry and get back to my food! : )

IMG_9005_edited-1

The teenagers table.  Love these guys!

Now onto Max.  My niece, Madilyn, had a little dance show yesterday and I offered to watch Max so that Emily could get Madi ready for it.  Tyson LOVES Max.  They love like brothers and even fight like brothers!  I had to pull out my camera because their cuteness was just too much!  Max is one of the few peoples names that Tyson will say (besides saying Momma and Dada).  However, it comes out as “Ma”.  Love it!

Smile!

Hugs!

Makes me want our next baby to be a boy so Tyson has a buddy.  No, I’m not announcing that I’m pregnant.  Just thought I’d make that very clear : )
