The Lego Store and a Birthday Party

We had a chance to go to the Lego Store just a week after opening.  My boys were in completely heaven.  Can you tell???  Tyson would barely hold still for a picture.  He was running all over that store looking at everything.

After the store my kids got to have a little sleep over at Grandma and Grandpa’s hotel.  They loved it so much!

The next day we went to my Grandpa’s 89th birthday party.  It was nice to catch up with cousins that I only see maybe once a year.  Grandpa I am sure liked having everyone around but he looked a little sad though and I am sure it is because he was really missing Grandma.

Andrew had started to feel a little hot and was clinging to Brian most of the party.  We weren’t sure what was going on.

Andrew ate the sucker and he was a complete MESS!

Missing some cousins but as many as we could get!

Afterward we went to Grandpa’s house for a bit.  They kids ran around outside in his backyard.  It was cute to see them playing where I would play when I was a little girl and it also made me really excited to have our own backyard soon.

Lagoon

My parents came into town for 10 days at the beginning of October to look for an investment/retirement house in St. George.  With the market still being low down there they wanted to capitalize on that.  So they flew in late Friday night and we wanted to make them as tired as possible and go to Lagoon on Saturday.  We meet at the Mike and Em’s house and then headed to Lagoon from there.

We have such great memories doing this every year.  This year was no exception.  Tyson was actually tall enough to do most of the rides this year.  He was so brave and loved it.  On Wicked he sounded really scared at the very first drop but after that he was smiling and having a great time.  I remember Jeffrey did well the whole day.  He stayed in the stroller and slept or looked around and ate well.

I’m towards the back with Tyson.  It just looks like an empty seat next to me but that’s Tyson.

Jeffrey was mesmerized by the rides.  He would watch with his eyes wide open like this.  He’s so cute.

Lagoon had a little Trick or Treat area with a maze, candy and and lots of photo ops.  It was really cute.

Then we found a little train museum.  The boys certainly loved that.  Tyson kept saying how he wanted this or that.

We rode the Bombora ride quite a few times.  No lines and not scary for the kids is a great reason why.

Ready to ride

This was such a cute photo opportunity.  It’s impossible to get 5 young kids looking at the camera.  This is the best we could do.  haha!

We rode all the favorites and sometimes more than once.  It was a great day.  The weather wasn’t too hot or too cold and it was busy but not annoyingly busy.  Thanks to my parents for taking us for trading and staying with Jeffrey so all of us could enjoy going on rides.

After Lagoon we went to Pepper Belly’s for dinner and then hung out at Mike and Em’s house before we had to go back home.  Here is dad almost falling asleep but still wanted to be around Jeffrey.

Potty Training…fail

So with Andrew being close to 3 and telling me when he was going to the bathroom I figured it was perfect timing to potty train.  It took Tyson 3 days to get it all together so I knew it would be 3 rough days and then it would be over.  Well, here’s how it all went down and why we had to call it quits…

Day 1:  75% success with pee, all 5 poops were accidents with one in the tub

That was a frustrating day but I felt like he did really well for day 1!

Just celebrating Day 1 with peeing all over the carpet…

IMG_1116_1300_edited-1

Day 2:  First pee of the day was a huge success.  Then the next pee and poop were accidents.  And that patterned continued the rest of the day.  Casualties: a bunch of books, including Tyson’s scriptures.  While I was teaching dance he only had 1 success and more accidents.

I didn’t even report on Day 3.  I bet it was just as bad if not worse than day 2.  I was a stressed out, basket case, emotional wreck.  Brian convinced me, and I’m glad he did, to throw in the towel and call it quits.  He wasn’t improving by day 3 and that means he just wasn’t ready.  It was hard to give up.  I was bound and determined but it wasn’t going to work if he wasn’t ready.  He kept saying, “I wanna go potty.”  But it never worked.  Oh well, we’ll trying again when he is three.  I really wanted to avoid our brand new carpet in our brand new house getting peed on but there isn’t much I can do about it at this point.

4 months old

It’s easy to remember to update on the baby every few months because at the Dr’.s office they give me a handy little card that gives me all of the stats.  I love that!

I’m writing it down a little bit late so I hope I remember what I would like to remember about baby Jeffrey at 4 months old.  I asked about his throat thing again.  It is still there and still not a worry to the Dr.  He said it will take a few more months to go away.  He has been developing great.  He increased in all areas of physical growth so we know he’s getting the food that he needs.  I still always worry because of what happened with Tyson.

Weight:  12 lbs 11.5 oz---4%

Length:  24 3/4 inch—27%

Head Circumference:  41 1/2 cm—38%

So he is still little comparing to others but he’s perfect to us.  At 4 months hold he was starting to realize he could roll but I wonder at most times if it was just a freak accident.  He was sleeping really well wrapped up, in our room, in the rocker.  About 2-3 weeks in though he started waking up at 4-5 am and would only go back to sleep if I fed him or rocked him.  He loved watching his older brothers run around him.  He smiled at them constantly, even when they weren’t trying to make him laugh.  He could hold items and had the cutest belly laugh ever.  He took great naps in the swing and loved attention and being held.  Although he did great laying around as long as he could see someone.  He was amazing at tummy time and could go 10-15 minutes.  He had such a strong neck!
