Thanksgiving

Andrew made a pilgrim hat at preschool and wanted me to take a picture of him wearing it.  I love that he wants me to take pictures of him.  Makes it easier on me to remember to try to capture all of these fun moments with these kids.  Time just goes to fast…

We hosted Thanksgiving at our house with my mom this year.  I’m so proud of Brian, he cooked the turkey (his first time) and did a wonderful job.

The menu: Turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, rolls and then yummy pie from Kneaders.  The food took a little longer to cook than we thought so the kids got a little hungry.  We let them dig into the rolls first.

After dinner we did what the Murrays are famous for…headed to the movie theater.  If I remember right we saw The Penguins of Madagascar.

And this is my try at trying to help the kids (and myself) remember the true meaning of Thanksgiving.  Counting our many, many blessings and being grateful.  This is our grateful turkey.  Every few days we got to write on a feather something that we are grateful for.  Some of the feathers were funny and some were very sweet and touching.  I will definitely do this grateful turkey again and again.

18 months Jeffrey

This little guy just melts my heart.  I can’t believe he is 18 months old.  Yay for the nursery at church though!

Isn’t his hair the best?  I’m afraid to cut it.  He’ll look like such a big boy instead of staying my baby forever.

He is still doing the snoring thing but the doctor doesn’t think we need to look into at this point.  We will wait until he gets older and see if he grows into his adenoids.

Andrew’s preschool picture!

My ballet classes get to dress up the week of Halloween.  It is so fun to see what all the little girls choose to be.  Frozen characters was the winner by far this year.

The next series of pictures are Jeffrey showing off his new found climbing skills.  He has started to get into EVERYTHING.  He pushes a stool, toy, whatever he can find to climb.  I had to put the chairs on the table for a few weeks because I’d catch him on top of the kitchen island and I was afraid he would hurt himself!  I remember having to do the same thing with my other boys.  Boys will be boys!!!

Andrew must have left the fridge open because I came down stairs one morning and Jeffrey had gotten into the sour cream.  He was dipping his binky in it and eating it.  H crawled all over the place smearing it into the carpet and on the stairs.

I have had so much fun being in Young Womens.  This was a combined activity where the kids were given ice cream and random food items.  They had to make the dessert taste good for the judges (bishopric).  Well, the kids didn’t even try to make it taste good.  They made the nastiest ice cream concoctions imaginable and the poor bishopric had to taste them and give scores.  It was so nasty!

And I think I wear my headbands a lot…

Pumpkin carving and Trick or Treat

On the 30th we carved pumpkins!  I remember it taking longer than we thought it would and it was a late night but the boys loved it.

Tyson picked out the stencil for Frankenstein, Andrew a skeleton and for Jeffrey we did a “c” for Carlsen.  

 

On Halloween night Brian and I took the boys around trick or treating and my mom offered to sit on the porch and hand out the candy. 

And I’m really glad I did the Fotofly Halloween pictures because trying to get these boys to pose for a picture was a complete joke.  This is the best I could get and the lighting is terrible.
