We got to spend 2 days celebrating the 4th of July! On the 3rd we went to my brother’s house. The kids first played in the little pool and water hose toy thingy. Tyson and Andrew had a blast. It made me really excited to have our own backyard where we can do things like that soon. Then we all headed to Monster’s University. All of the kids, including Jeffrey, did great. It was a super cute and fun movie. Next, we had a great dinner of pulled pork, potato salad, watermelon and chips. Then everyone headed outside for popsicles, some baseball fun, sparklers, smoke bombs and pops. Andrew got pretty scared of the ‘fireworks’. He kept backing away slowly with a terrifed look on his face. It was funny and a little sad at the same time. He’s so cute. Tyson loved the fireworks and was so excited he almost ran into the street a few times. After an extremely quick bath for my kids we then drove to Centerville to see their fireworks. We sat in the parking lot by the van and was almost attacked by a spinning dragonfly. It was really bizarre and hilarious. We had a perfect view of the fireworks though along with a perfectly quick escape We sure missed my dad but it was fun to have mom here. She gets very excited about this holiday.
Because Brian’s birthday was on the 1st we had Reese’s ice cream cake and sang Happy Birthday. He’s 34 now. On Brian’s real birthday he had to work but mom watched all of the boys and we went to see Man of Steel right at 7pm.
Then on the real 4th of July we all slept it. It was fabulous. We cleaned the house and just relaxed. For dinner we had hot dogs and went outside for the kids to do their little ‘fireworks’ again. The Davis’s were outside and got to join us. We had a great time just hanging out.
Missing Andrew and a crying Jeffrey…
Cute picture but now Tyson is picking his nose with the American Flag…
Alright, this one will do. Welcome to my crazy lovely life!
Jeffrey’s first 4th of July!
Sparkler time! Andrew was still really unsure about it even though Grandma was trying to help him.
Yeah, he wanted nothing to do with them…
but he would sit on the steps and do pops with daddy.
